(If) not for me (If) not for you – revisiting performance archives at grunt gallery

(If) not for me, (If) not for you - performance photo

As part of their 40th anniversary celebrations, grunt gallery is putting together a montage of performance documentation from their archive to celebrate their past and the work of Merle Addison, one of grunt’s oldest friends and primary performance photographer throughout the years. The montage will be featured in rotation for 6 months in 2025 on the Mount Pleasant Community Arts Screen: grunt’s 4×7 metre outdoor public art screen at the busy corner of Kingsway and Broadway in Vancouver, BC. Having performed during the LIVE biennial in 2001, the pictured photo of (If) not for me, (If) not for you, taken by Addison, will be part of this collection of performance images.
